My wife and I are planning a cruise for next March and im wondering if were planning a bit too early. Probably not since the cruise lines have cruises for 2010 on some cruise lines, but im worried the cruise will change if we book it this early. Were gettting travel insurance to i realy dont have anything to worry about in the cancelling sense.

Sorry for babbling on. I probably just answered my own question.

Anyway Cruise we have decided on at this point is

Royal Caribbean Internaional
Navigator of the Seas
Embarking March 14, 2009
Going to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman (in reverse order)
(5 Night Cruise)

Never too early to book if you know when you want to go. You'll love Navigator. In my opinion it's the nicest ship doing less than 7 day itineraries. Have a great cruise!

You really can't lose with booking early. It locks in the price, if it goes up you are protected. If it goes down, you can get adjustments. Plus, you have a better selection of cabins. You also have up until the penalty period to get a full refund. It is a win-win proposition. And, with these fuel supplements being added now, you may be able to get exempted from further increases.

I booked 20 months out (in Feb 2008 for a Nove 2009 cruise). The further out, the longer to save for it.... Dwayne & Neil have the right advice. The hard part now is the waiting . . .and waiting .. . and waiting...

HI, I agree with everyone. I booked 10 months in advance for my cruise that is coming in 20 days. I liked selecting the cabin I wanted and have had tons of fun leaning things from the people on this site and others. It's always fun to have something to look forward to. Hope you have fun planning!

I agree with everyone as well. Especially, the longer to save/pay for it. If you have insurance, you have no worries. It is a great reward for all of your hard work. We usually book at least a year out.

I almost always book a year or more out, for all the reasons stated above.

We booked our Hawaiian 10/08/2009 a week ago. Cabin choices were already very limited !! Book early and book often

I booked my Mariner October cruise last September; if I were to book the same cruise today it would cost me $400 per person more. When ships begin to fill up, the price usually goes up. You'll love the Navigator…I agree with TrvlPro, it's the best ship doing less than 7 night cruises.

Half the fun is booking early and planning. My next cruise is 1/12/09 and I am having a great time planning our excursions...we ended up with a great suite...I have our pre-cruise hotel booked and things to do in Ft. Lauderdale. Now the hard part...waiting! It's an addiction but I can think of worse things to be addicted to

I agree with all of you about booking early. The waiting is stressful, but we're going to do ALL the excursions we want to...even the expensive ones. We have 6 months to save for them. So we have 3 ports of call...and I'm buying the excursion one per month. Also makes the Sign and Sail card a little less. Also, I try to book and pay for parking early too. One less thing!

Steve you do like we do. In addition we usually buy a little ship board credit. On our last Cruise, when we checked out we owed about $10.00.
It makes it nice to have things paid for.
