We are looking for a carrib cruise in March that has poker tourneys on board at night. Any good cruises I should check out that cater to poker players? If not, what is the best cruise line for a 7 day carribean cruise? Best places to visit? There is so much info out there it is just diffucult to sift through. I would really like to have a luxury cruise at a discount price but dont know where to go. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, they don't offer Texas Hold 'em in the Casinos. At least not the main lines. That could (and should) change with the recent popularity, but as of now, I don't know of any.

Hope to hear they change this, since I love playing as well!

I am sure that the cruise lines are being inundated with requests for poker tables. I was surprised to learn that they havent added any tables for poker players yet. it cant be too far off with the popularity of Texas Hold em these days...

Jeff, there is a discussion going on in the Priness section above, regarding Texas Hold'em. Someone reported that they just got off the Grand Princess, which now has 4 tables dedicated to Texas Hold'em, with tournaments at 10pm every night. Check out the topic in the Princess section.

Just game off Carnival's Fascination yesterday. They did have a table of Texas Hold'em in the Beverly Hills Lounge. It was only during certain times they played and it was very busy when they did. It seems I remember Carnival was getting it on all their ships.

Jeffs I would suggest that you contact a reputable Cruise Specialized Travel agent to help you decide on which cruise to take. That is what they are trained for. They will be able to answer all your questions and qualify you to the best ship based on what you are looking for. They can also check prices on all ships.

I was told that the CARNIVAL LEGEND has poker tournaments.

You could also check out www.cardplayercruises.com which has several cruises a year and a whole giant card room dedicated to poker.

Jeff;

The cruise lines are finding that they cannot really offer poker tournaments onboard due to lack of space for the games and not enough revenue when compared to their other house games. Poker tournaments are played player against player and the house rake is not sufficiant to warrent major investment. That is why companies like DOCs "SUITED PAIRS" Poker tours were created.

There will be a poker cruise in September on Carnival Valor. The idea of this cruise is to provide a 'real' tournament environment for the 'casual' player. The cruise will offer 7 individual tournaments for big money payouts and a final 'CHAMPIONs' game with a seat offered for the 2007 WPT super satellite event at Bellagio hotel in Vegas. So..if you get knocked out of one tournament, you still have another tournament the next day!

Price to play is INCLUDED in the price of the cabin.

I refer you to Cruise Depot (800-326-9050) or www.docspokercruises.com If I am allowed to suggest this.

Good luck!

I sailed on the Conquest last October and they had one texas Hold Em table in the Casino. It was always packed.

I believe they had at least one tournament, but I don't remember the details.
