Hey everyone! I am doing a powerpoint presentation for my computer class. I decided to do one on cruising! I want to demonstrate to the class why they should cruise. So if someone asked you why cruise? what would you say? Thanks for your help.
No Rick.. its more like "try staying in four different countries in one week and have all of your transportion, meals and entertainment included for <$100 a day."
It truly is the value vacation- 5 star meals, great entertainment, beautiful weather, and absolutely NO worries. You go to sleep after visiting Cozumel and wake up the next day in Grand Cayman. You didn't have to plan or figure out anything...

For me, it is staying in a fabulous hotel that I probably could not afford if it was on land, have someone care for me all the time, with food and cleaning my room, entertainment, etc, without worrying about the cost. Finally, it is going to unique destinations and doing extraordinary excursions.
Good luck with your presentation.

As a family, there is something for everyone. Each person can do what they want and all come back together at dinner to discuss their day. They even have organized activities for the little ones so that moms can actually relax. Not to mention being waited on hand and foot. That's what I call a vacation!! Hope all goes well with your project.

You have an opportunity to try new places and new adventures without having to committ to "X" number of days at one place - - it goes back to the "new place every day" issue. If you can't decide on which Hawaiian island to spend a week, try a cruise, see each island and decide which you liked best... not sure if a week in Jamaica is the best vacation, stop and explore for the day to decide. Some folks consider the ship the destination..... plenty to do.
Well put, susanmaz! I think some first-time cruiser's expectations are too high. I hate hearing, "We just didn't have enough time to do this or that." No, you can't appreciate Florence or Barcelona or Athens in a day; or Venice or St. Petersburg in an overnight; that's not what cruising is about. It's about getting a taste of a country or city or island, as you say, and deciding which places you would like to go back and explore in depth.

Thanks guys for all your help. I am also trying to get my best friend to cruise, but she is not having it. I am giving her all these good reasons; yet she would rather do an all inclusive to Jamaica for 7 days. I am telling her you can still get this great service and see more places then staying in one location. I guess my cruise just spoiled me and I have only been on one.
No matter what cabin you are in on board, you are treated with respect and treated well. Of course, you can still keep in touch with the world, but if you don't want to you don't have to. No phones, no computers, no bosses. You are on the ocean for 3-103 days. The sunrises and sunsets are magnificent. You get to visit different cultures, taste different foods, experience different adventures. It can be as peaceful and tranquil as you wish, or you can be on the go from sun up to sun down. There is no other vacation that can offer as much value. You unpack once, no need to worry about transportation, making connections or having to figure out where to eat. The ships themselves are amazing, a self-contained city. Shopping, entertainment, casinos, swimming pools, laundry, dry cleaning, restaurants, fitness centers, spas, beauty salons, and libraries that you don't have to drive miles to get to. You get to meet and talk to people from all over the world. Best wishes with your project, but you should go on a cruise and experience it for yourself

It's funny you say this because I have been going back and forth with myself on whether to take my laptop with me. I have finally decided not to ... one less bag to carry (and keep up with) and I can always check my email from the ship. I will however be taking my cell phones (yes I have two). Since I am travelling alone, I want my family to have an approximate time to tell the police if I come up missing!! lol
Sea Air Beautiful Ports Off Broadway style shows, (sometimes way off) Good food, I don't go with the five star idea Pools Casino Clubs Dnacing Regular table and servers Bars Hot tubs Buffeys Stewards, Butlers and Consierge Being on a big ship instead of watchin on.
Jamaica is one of least favrit among cruisers. Why Janmaica?
sitting on a balcony and everyday seeing new and wonderful sights and the chance to sample so many beautiful islands in one cruise also the chance to do new things you might not do otherwise crusing you just cannot beat it but it is so addictive Julie
With a cruise, you are in a fantasy world from the time you board the ship until you leave. You feel like you are in a dream and you don't want to wake up!
In addition to all that has been written, I would add that you have the opportunity to really get to know people from all walks of life and many different cultures. We have been lucky to have wonderful dining companions on our cruises. We have made friends with people from Europe and Canada as well as the USA. These friendships have extended beyond the cruise.
I guess the answer to your question of "Why Cruise?" is that it is a mystery that can only be solved by taking the journey and living the dream!
