I was just wondering which is favored the Buffet style dining or would you rather be served like in the dining room. One of my sister's prefer the variety of the buffet and one of my sister's prefered to be served so i was just wondering about everyone else and thier likes.

I would rather eat in the dinning room. There is a lot of variety there as well, you can order anything you want. Why stand in line?

Absolutely, without a doubt, the dining room. We often have breakfast and lunch there. It's not just a matter of being served -- I enjoy the pace, the smaller portions (yes, really!), not having to find a seat, and the atmosphere. There is also a pretty decent variety of choices on the menu. Additionally, it is not necessarily slower than going to the buffet--particularly when factoring in the lines at the buffet and the temptation to go back for more.

Dining room without any hestitation. As Lisa stated, smaller portions is a big factor. It's very easy to glom out at the buffet. I also believe that the dining room offers up more select choices.

At home I wait on my family. I make the meals, serve up the meals, and usually am the one cleaning up after the meals. When we are cruising, it's my turn to be waited on a little bit. I enjoy the personalized service that the dining room offers my family.

I like the buffet in the morning. I love the made to order omlettes and fresh fruit! Lunch at sea is usually a burger and then back to the pool. Dinner is in the dining room.

Im with carlg. Dining room definitely in the evening, but Lido buffet for breakfast. Lunch we are usually on port but if we are on the ship, we usually do the buffet for lunch, if we aren't still full from breakfast that is. I love all the fresh fruit!

I like the dining room as well. Though I must admit I don't go every night. I never miss the lobster and prime rib night though. Sometimes if I pig out at lunch and is a late sail away I skip it. I am going to try the dining room for breakfast this time..Dave said they have eggs benedict .. yummy!

Any room for me at your house andrea?

the only thing I dont like about the dining room is the time I have to be there...Id rather go when I want. I take Naps from 4:30 to about 7:30 - 8:00 or so after spending the day in the sun at the pool. try to make the 8:30 dinner but then I miss an Hour of Karaoke... therefore I usually only do the dining room one night on a 3 or 4 night cruise.
make it so I can go when I want and Ill eat there Each night.

Just a Thought

Dining room for dinner, hands down. Mr. O, cruise on Princess sometime, you're not restricted to late/early seating. For breakfast, buffet, for lunch, lido. Like Andrea, I have to cook, serve, and clean up after putting in a 11-12 hour day at work. I love being waited on and not having to worry about cleaning up after dinner is done. Plus, you can actually relax and have an after dinner drink.

Only if you'll serenade me at dinner with a little Frank Sinatra, or Michael Buble, Mr. O. Smile

Oh, and then I can use a hand stacking the dishwasher! Still want to come? Big Grin

Andrea and Penny: What's wrong with them there neanderthals in your household. Somebody there needs to step up and help! No Mr. O., that's not an invitation for you to come over for some of my 4-star grub. (4-star---not 5-star; didn't want to sound too conceited....oops, too late).

G.C., Sometimes it takes a little prodding, but they come around.

Actually, I get a lot of help. They have their designated chores that they do every day. My oldest daughter especially loves vacuuming the pool after tons of frogs have jumped in it overnight. I don't think she'll miss doing that job once she's off at college. Wink

So it seems to me the majority prefer the dining room experiance ok well as for me I liked both there were times when I wanted to sit down and have a nice relaxing meal and just order and there were times when I wanted to just get all types of different things on my plate.
