The tags for the luggage are stick on. We are leaving Sept. 7th for the Alaska cruise. Will these tags stay on the luggage?

I've never had a tag fall off. The luggage is only going from the pier to the ship, so it isn't handled that much.

we have only them come off one time. That was in San Diego. The luggage was being handled in a heavy rain. Lots of tags came off. That is why we always tag our a couple of times.

We haven't had one of the adhesive-backed luggage tags fall off, either. (We have had that situation, however, with the old style ones that were attached with string.)

As a secondary measure, you can do what we do and put your itinerary (including ship, cabin #, and contact information) inside your luggage, as well.

Also, unless specified otherwise by the cruise line, you usually do not need to put the tags on before your flights.

Another good idea is too have an additional tag with your name etc. on it. I've only lost one tag so far, and that was one of the elastic string ones. Luckily, I had a back up tag.

Anyone have the same problem I have with removing the tags? Once I return from a cruise, I leave the tags on the luggage, because the tags themselves bring back wonderful memories. I won't take them off until I can put new cruise tags on! It just makes me so sad to acknowledge that my trip is over!

That's funny you mentioned that. Big Grin

My debarkation tags are still on my luggage from last year too. Smile

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. We keep the tags on the camera bag, as it's a carry-on. Although we remove them from the luggage we are to check, I keep them... inside a pocket inside the luggage. Big Grin I know you all understand...

I feel better about my luggage. Now if the airline doesn't get it lost I will probably be fine. Gee, would hate to get on the ship without any clothes. We have made our own flight plans so that we can get to Seattle a day early. Never know if fights will be canceled. Thanks for the replys.

Hi Sherry,
Guess you are as excited as we are. I am worried about the right kind of coat to take. Hope that it isn't so cold. Have read on the board to take layers for wearing, that is what I am doing, but not a heavy coat.

Take it from a New Englander... layering is the way to go.

Hope you both enjoy Alaska as much as we did. We returned about a week-and-a-half ago, and already want to make a return visit.

Glad to be of help on the luggage tags.
