Just looking to see if there will be any other cruisers on our cruise. We are sailing on 12/8/07 On Carnival Glory. This will be my third cruise and my girlfriends second. Is there any words of wisdom about the ship or the ports?
We will be visiting Nassau, St. Thomas and St Maarten. We are extremly excited.
You will find great advice and friendly people here.
Glory is a wonderful ship. A tip for the casual dining area is to get your food and head upstairs. It is less crowded and a great view. They also have a Fish n Chips station up there.
There are also ship and port reviews on our sister site CruiseReviews.com
Again, Welcome Aboard!

We just returned from the Glory. Our ports were Cozumel,Belize,Roatan and Freeport.. We trully loved the Glory. The crew is AMAZING and you will love WEEEEE Jimmy, the Cruise Director. He is a trip. The one and only compaint i had about the ship was the Photography Sales people, along with how they forced you to purchase the 8x10 $22 pic's. The ship is huge and very nicely laid out. It will take a couple days to get used to everything. Definatly do the Super Club Reservation Restaraunt. You will not regret it.
Has anyone cruised between thanksgivinh and christmas?
What is the weather like? Are the ships usally full? Our TA said not alot of people vacation during that time so we would probablly not have a full boat. Which would be OK but I like to meet lots of new people and learn about other parts of this world.
My husband, Mike, and I are also on the Glory on Dec 8th. We've sailed on the Liberty last December to the Eastern Carib and the weather was beautiful. We've also been on the Glory before and did this Itinerary - I think you'll really enjoy the cruise. The Glory is a real nice ship!!! What other ships have you been on?
Have you looked at any of the shore tours yet?
I found the ships to be full at this time of year (maybe they had a few empty cabins). Not as many children as the summer since school is still in session.
The Supper Club is very nice and the food is excellent.
We're from Myrtle Beach, SC (originally NJ - I can relate to the cold!!!) Where in Minnesota are ya's from?
Someone we had met on board did the Boss and loved it! We did the mini-boat a couple of years ago and really enjoyed that one. We may just go to the beach but I'm still looking at the tours. Not sure for St. Marten yet. What Ports have you been to on the Victory?
We did a 5-Day to Canada on the Victory (nice ship) - Glory is similar in layout but LARGER (and decor is more subdued). We really enjoyed her - it's big but if you want a quiet spot to lay out, you can find one.
We're driving down a couple of days before the cruise. My daughter lives in Orlando so we'll get to visit with her and her fiance. Are you flying in the nite before?
Did you print your tickets out yet? My last cruise they didn't have the e-tickets. I still have to print ours but I heard that the luggage tags work out pretty good (I was wondering about that).
We are currently residing in Alexandria it is about 2 hours northwest of minneapolis. But hopefully the army will be moving us soon.
On the victory we went to cozumel, caymen islands, and ochos rios. I Loved Jamaica.
We are flying down the morning before into Daytona Beach and Macaille's uncle is picking us up and we will spend the day and the night with him then he will drive us down to the port.
We have not printed anything off yet we just booked about 10 days ago I booked it on a whim without asking her and just did it. Got a good deal with Military discount which was actually cheaper than a previous cruiser discount.
We are 29 & 28 just looking to relax and have fun.
Just saw your post and wanted to welcome you. I live in North Myrtle. I will miss cruising out of Port Canaveral this year, it is such an easy port to navigate if you are driving. Best wishes for a wonderful cruise on the Glory.
Thanks, Dwayne! We moved here 2 years ago and love it! I agree with you on Port Canaveral - that's one of the reasons why we decided on the Glory. I see you're on the Legend in a couple of weeks - I love the Spirit class ships. Wishing you a GREAT cruise!!!
Mike/Macaille:
I think that is awesome that you booked the cruise and surprised Macaille!
Do you have any idea where you'll be stationed next? (Hopefully, someplace a little warmer - like Ft. Bragg.)
We're both in our mid-fifties (yikes that sounds so old! LOL). We've been to the Western Carib (never Jamaica, though). I like the beaches in Cozumel.
We, too, just enjoy getting away - doesn't matter what Ports we pull into. Always have a good time on Carnival!
I dont really care where the Army sends me. I would prefer the east coast as that is where my kids are and it would be great to see them on a regular basis. They live just outside Washington DC.
I know what you mean about being closer to your kids. I have a daughter here, one in Orlando and my son is in NJ. It's tough not seeing them all the time especially my grandbaby who's 2 yrs old. (We're going up to NJ next week for a few days - can't wait!) How old are your kids?
Still haven't gotten around to printing out the tickets but I'm still trying to decide on shore tours.
I have 3 kids, 2 daughters and 1 son. My daughters are 7 and 6 and my son is 2. No grand kids yet hopefully it will be another 15-20 years. Talk to you later
