It is about a ten minute bus ride. Too far to walk (and through areas that you would not want to.) We were there in June 07 and it was a Sunday and almost everything was closed.
We took a ships excursion and saw some Roman ruins and an old castle (plus some pretty countryside.) Nice trip but nothing to write home about.

We just visited Limassol in November on the Galaxy and booked a private tour guide who met us at the dock. We did an all day tour and visited Aprhodite's Rock, the Tombs of the Kings. Paphos Harbor is very pretty w/ lots of little outdoor restaurants or you can just sit and enjoy the view. We visited the House of Dionysos to see the breathtaking mosaics going back to the 3rd century AD. We stopped along the way and visited the Greco-Roman theater built in the 2nd century B.C. They still use the theater today for performances. There are wonderful views of the sea from the top of the theater. I can give you further info if you like about who we used for a guide.
