We have walked around South Beach, and experienced that scene. We loved it. Lots of energy, and great people watching. I was looking on a map and saw that Miami Beach is north along Collins Drive. Is Miami Beach that much different in its vibe, shops, restaurants? I am deciding if I want to stay on South Beach or Miami Beach. The hotels are generally cheaper in Miami Beach, but also farther from the airport and cruise terminal. Any comments, thoughts are welcomed. Thanks Lil' Lori

We always try to stay within walking distance of South Beach rather than right in it. This seems to work out well. Miami Beach, while nice, just doesn't have the same energy.

Unless they've made a whole of changes to Miami Beach, I'd opt for South Beach.

I'm still trying to find a hotel - We are thinking about the Hyatt - We do want to go to south beach and do some shopping. But need to be close enough to the port. We did you stay? How did you get around?
