Taking the 7 day Mexico cruise and would love to do the water shore excursions. Anyone know if the water is chilly in early January?

hello. I just got back from Mazatlan on Dec 7th. The water was warm. It was warmer than the unheated pool at the hotel. Everyone was saying, they couldn't believe how warm the water was. The people I was with, go every year for their 2 week timeshare. They said last year the water was cold. So, I guess you never know. I have found with some research on google, the average water temps of a beach, island. It took a little effort, but I was able to find it. Hope this helps. Lil' Lori

How cool the water feels depends a lot on the air temperature and wind condition. I've been snorkeling in Cabo many times in Jan.-March and never thought the water was "cold"; cool? yes, but not enough to keep me from going in. And farther south in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta its never been anything but really comfortable.
