We are traveling to Venice a few days before our Med Cruise next May. There will be 6 of us (adults). We don't want to drag luggage through town. We would like hotel recommendations in town, near the ship docks and at the airport.

We stayed outside of Venice island, but right NEXT to the train station at the Crowne Plaza D'Altino. They will pick you up at the airport free of charge, and as long as you book on their website, they will give you free RT train tickets each day to go into Venice. They do not provide transportation to the port, but we took a cab and it was not all that expensive. We had a huge room, and thought the hotel was very nice. We also enjoyed strolling through a very nice suburban area and buying fruit at a local grocery, seeing the houses, and going to a local bakery one morning.
