Will be renting a car for two days while on Maui in port....so where do you leave the car overnight? Thanks for your help.

There are a number of Public Parking facilities in Lahaina, but they do tend to fill up. I have had the best luck with those south of the Banyan Tree on Front Street - across from the Kamehameha School and on the corner of Front and Prison St. It is a relativey short walk to the dock from there.

Thank you for the information. I should have clarified that we will be docking at Kahului. I think this is quite a distance away from Lahaina. Do you have any other suggestions>

Sorry, I can't help you there - I have never ported in Kahului. Perhaps Tom will read this post and know the answer - he is much more familiar with that side of the island than I am.

The port in Kahului is within 5 minutes of the airport and offers parking, as well. Lahaina is across the island on the lee of the West Maui Mountains and depending on traffic, can take as much as an hour to reach. The town of Wailuku and Kahului are located quite close to the port itself.
