All except for that last minute stuff I can't pack until I am finished using it to get dressed.
Will be leaving here Saturday morning for Houston to meet up with family and help my sis pack as her work has kept her in crisis mode for months. But that's fun sister stuff anyway. (always love to go through "my sister's closet", in fact we have a consignment store here in Tyler named just that)
And sharing makeup and shoes reminds us of playing dress up when we were girls. That will be fun..
I will try to make great notes, take great pics and be ready to give a comprehensive review when we return.
I feel like I know the ship backwards and forwards already, thanks to all of you here.
And I will be thinking of you, the first one of all these wonderful cruise chat posters who answered questions for. I was a cruise chat newbie the first time you welcomed me and I will not ever forget.
Ok. Can somebody help me. We are leaving on the Pride on Oct 7th 07. I'm having a ball reading information and places to see on this cruise. Does anyone have A'ndreas list of what you should bring? Or if you read this A'ndrea, I would love your list. I know about the bungee cord for the door out to the balcony and now the over the door shoe organizer.(GREAT IDEA) but am confused about the close pins. Can someone bring me up to speed. I've been on 2 cruises before and was always so unorganized. I'm new to this site and want to learn as much as I can before my family & I leave. Thanks everyone, Debbie
Hi Deb. The clothes pins are for securely holding the shower curtain down on the floor. It will gladly find it's way to your body if you don't use the clothes pins.
Here's the list you requested....
Things to remember:
*Good SPF. I like Bullfrog. Impossible to wash off. A little pricey, but well worth it. *Bungee cord for the balcony door. This one is your discretion. *Binoculars, a must. *water shoes *hats and sunglasses *water misting bottles *digital camera/waterproof camera(2-3).(I like Fuji). *small bottle of travel Tide-to-go and a few sheets of Bounce. These items will be expensive on the ship. You can get your change from the casino, while at sea. Casino is closed while docked in port. *All appropriate RX's. *Compact umbrella or two. Just in case. *Dollar store over-the-door shoe holder just for odds and ends that get thrown on the counter in the cabin. *2 or 3 chip clips or clothes-line pins to anchor the shower curtain. Trust me... it will stick to you. Uuk!
If you need any more information, just ask.

Michele, Thankyou for the extra items. I'm really enjoying reading everything on this sight. I have learned so much from all of you. With all that I have learned I should be really organized this time around. Can't wait to hear about your trip cause you are 1 week before we leave on the Pride. Have a Great Trip. I am so excited about our trip. I can't wait. Debbie
I cannot believe I have it all packed. And no overweight bags, not too much overpacking, lol.
I am so excited and wish all of you were going to be there !
I feel so fortunate to be able to know so much ahead of time. Hardly feel like a newbie at all !!!!
Now off to bed so I can get up early and make the trek to Houston to help my sis pack. We can get nails and toes and brows done, ya know all that stuff, more fun to do together.
Well it looks like Brenda may be getting a little wet this week...Henriette (Cat. 1 Tropical Storm) is heading for Los Cabos. I will continue to pray that the storm is farther out than it looks on Weather.com!!!!

OMG Just saw on CruiseCritic that they sent the Pride to Ensenada - San Diego - and Catalina Island this week because of the storm. Someone posted a picture of the Pride in Catalina. You can also see her from the camera at the Avalon Landing. And someone also posted that a whole mess of peopl from last weeks trip got the Norovirus and that the pool had to be emptied because of "floating particles".
Ok...I'm a little nervous now!!!! I can't wait to hear what Brenda says about this!!!! I would (WILL) be soooo upset if I have to vacation in California!!! I live here for peets sake! Breathe....exhale....breathe....exhale....

Oh wow. I heard about Henriette this morning, but just thought it might be a bit rainy for Brenda. That really is disappointing. I think I would have been pretty sad if it had happened to me on my first cruise - for my future cruises I don't think I'll care as long as I get to stay on the ship for seven days... But poor Brenda!
Michelle, I agree - I live in California too and really would not want to have paid so much money to go to San Diego... I guess it's one of those things that you just can't control, and it's a risk we all have to take. I hope Brenda makes the best of things and has a good time no matter what!

OK I just re-read my last post and boy did that sound wrong...geez poor me if I have to vacation in California!!! Sorry - I didn't mean it that way! But we did the Ensenada/Catalina route for our honeymoon and I REALLY have no desire to ever do that again! And then with kids...yikes! There is not much to do!.
Oh well - I hope the weather is good for Brenda and that they have a nice cruise. I guess it's kindof like a "cruise to nowhere" if you just stay on the ship!
