Hello, I posted a note on this subject dated January 25th, called "New Orleans Port and Hotels", it is about 2/3 down one the first page, under the Port Reviews. Have fun, Lil Lori
we have stayed at the Hampton inn on st charles and the Holiday inn and also the royal Sonesta on royal and bourbon st. they are close to port and to bourbon st. so you can visit and enjoy the sites.
I just returned from the Conquest yesterday. We stayed at the Omni Royal in the French Quarter. We booked through Priceline and I highly recommend it. The Omni Royal was going for $249.00 a night. I requested a 4 star hotel with a max price of $75.00. That is what I got. My son did not have any luck when he did a 4 star for $75.00 so he went down to a 3 star and for $65.00 got the Hyatt Regency which was going for $259.00 per night. He said his hotel was better than mine. Any rate they beat any other hotel that is $75.00 or less a night. If you have never done priceline you tell them where you wnat to stay and how much you are willing to pay. If they accept it you have a room. If they don't then you can keep bidding till you get one. Hope this helps.
I would second the vote for the Omni Royal. I stayed there on my last cruise (American Queen) just a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed everything about the hotel. Great location that is central to everything.
