We are cruising with Celebrity to New England on September 27, 2007. We would like some ideas on excursions, that others have taken and enjoyed. We are also somewhat concerned about rough seas, and the weather at that time of year. Any imput, would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi blotter. Congratulations on the booking. Canada/New England is my favorite itinerary, and we also live in New England.
You've selected a good time to visit. Average temperatures are in the 60s (F) in Boston and high 50s in Quebec City. Seas can vary, but be assured that your Captain will steer clear of any very rough weather that might be in the area. That's not to say it won't be a little bumpy at times, but certainly nothing too uncomfortable. (And, I've always found that a green apple works well for seasickness, if needed -- and I've needed it just once in five Canada/NE cruises, and that was just for a few hours.)
This link (click HERE) will bring you to an overview of the region that I wrote a few years ago. Very little has changed since then.
blotter are you doing a stop in Quebec City or Montreal? If so I can hook you up with personal driver tour guide for must see attractions such as Montmorency Falls, Shrine Ste Anne and Orlean Island in Quebec City country side and much more in Montreal contact armani1975@yahoo.com
