Can someone who has sailed out of Tampa tell me if one side is better than the other? I don't want to be the only one from cruise-chat on the wrong side of Inspiration.

Well, maybe this one is gone too but what I meant was; Can you tell me specifically what is of interest on the port side whilst (for Ptur whilst he is enjoying his "holiday" in Europe) one is sailing out of Tampa.

I just looked at Google Earth for Tampa and it has the Inspiration at the pier. The ship apparently ties up port side to, and the pier is actually a good ways in from the open ocean. Look just northeast of Harbor Island and you'll see the ship.

I just noted that the SS American Victory is moored adjacent to the cruise ship terminal. I've got to take that tour!

Bottom line is it seems to me that there is plenty opportunity for viewing the scenery on both sides as you move through the channel.

Should be a fun trip! The S.S. American Victory looks to be an interesting tour as well. I add my thanks to your buddy for the local info.
