Oceania Cruises Holds a Family Reunion in Dubrovnik
May 9, 2007, Miami, FL – Oceania Cruises sister ships Insignia and Nautica rendezvoused in Croatia on Tuesday for a homecoming and “family reunion”. Both ships sailed in tandem past the walls of the Old City and the Insignia, under the command of Captain Giulio Ressa, performed several figure-eights around her anchored sister ship, much to the delight of the guests on board both ships.
It was an emotional day onboard for it was the first time Insignia and Nautica have been in port together, and for many of the Croatian Officers and Staff onboard, the day was a homecoming day. “Tuesday was one of the proudest days in my career, to have not one, but two of our magnificent ships visit my home together, and yesterday, Regatta visited Dubrovnik as well.” stated Captain Jurica Brajcic, Master of the Nautica.
“The sense of family that is so prevalent throughout Oceania Cruises shone through as so many of our extended family come from the Adriatic regions of Italy and the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia,” stated Carlo Gunetti, General Manager of the Insignia.
One of Oceania Cruises’ most popular ports of call, Regatta, Insignia and Nautica will call in Dubrovnik a total of 25 times in 2007 and 22 times in 2008.
