I am planning to take a cruise on the Regal Empress and wanted to get some information and first hand opinion from anyone who signed up for the "Imperial Gourmet Dining" program. Is it worth the extra $25 per person? How is the food otherwise if this program is passed. I know food is hard to come by in between the three scheduled meals but is this food program rally worth almost the price of the cruise ($69 per person). Also, rooms s6- s10 on the ecl level are considered how high of an upgrade. it sounds from reading other posts that it is worth it. Please send comments.
Hi ranidweik, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I've not had the pleasure of sailing on the Regal Empress, but did want to welcome you aboard. Hopefully, someone has done this cruise and program. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
I was on Regal Empress several years ago before she was operated by Imperial Majesty. I love the ship and am happy to answer any questions on layout, cabins, etc. Cabins S6-S10 are very different from each other, though. For instance, S10 is a suite, whereas the others are outside staterooms of various sizes. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by ecl level... but, if you are indeed talking about Sun Deck, that is far preferable to the lowest outside cabins on A- or B-decks.
Thank you for the info. I read about the various rooms from a past post by yourself, Lisa. However, my biggest question was the first one i posed which was the $25 for Imperial Gourmet Dining program. Has anyone participated in it? Is the quality of food worth it. Afterall, for some the cruise is only $59 per person and for $25 more this is almost half of the entire cruise. I have looked at previous posts on this web site and everyone generally raves about the "days catch" which is a seafood plate and I am not sure if this dinner is part of the cruise rate($59) or the Dining program.
Comments on the Dining program would be greatly appreciated.
I have never been on the Regal Empress myself, but I read a few reviews of the Regal Empress located on the cruise review sections of this website under Imperial Majesty Cruise Review.
The comments about food sound positive. You might want to have a look at the reviews
I am wondering if anyone has sailed on the Empress in recent months and can give me some feedback on their experience. What rooms are preferrable? How was the Food? Where did you sail? What was the fair per person? Anything else I should keep in mind? thanks.

Nobody here has been on the Regal Empress lately - as far as I can recall.
It is a 2-night cruise, so you can expect things like service and food to not be high-end. I'm sure the staff is pleasant, and the food is probably rather basic. Many meals are served buffet-style. Look at the Imperial Majesty website for more details and pricing. There is a sample itinerary on their page which might answer lots of questions.
