I need to hear from anyone who has recently [within the past couple of years] docked at the Port of Livorno, Italy. I need to know the berth name or location of the pier where the ship docked, especially in reference to the Europcar rental facility in the port. I understand that the cruise terminal has been moved to Molo Italia Pier but I don't know where that is. Also, I have heard that walking in the port area is now allowed and using a shuttle is not necessary. My plans are to get a car or train and see Pisa and Florence. I have heard that taxis are hard to cme by at the time of docking if you are going local. The drivers want the "all day" or "long haul" fares and will pass you by if you ask for a ride to the train station. I would appreciate anything that anyone has recently experienced. Thank you.
I was there last summer. But sorry, I have no idea about how to call it where it is =/ The pier is set near old magazine/fortress in somekinda industrial district, around there is nothing really intresting, old dock buildings only.
You really need to post this in the Europe Port Chat section. If you go to the Europe Port section and click on "find", a box will appear with a white section. Type in the word livorno and then click on "GO" You will see lots of posts with this same type of question and hopefully one the more recent replies will answer your question. If you need more information then make a post in the Europe port chat section as there are several members who have cruised to Livorno several times. regards jack
