Has anyone been on the Perla, currently operated by Louis Cruises, departing from Pireaus? I have read several very negative reports about the condition of the ship and am scheduled to take a trip on that ship on July 1st. Any first hand reports or reports of general reliability would be greatly appreciated!
the vessel has not seen any maintenance work for the last two years with Royal Olympia Cruises. Meanwhile, Louis Lines has given her a quick refit. The vessel is, let's say, ok for the age it has. You can in no way expect something similar like a Costa ship or so. The ship is rather simple, Louis is working hard and will improove her step by step.
I cannot say yat what exactly has been done on her so far but I expect her to be in almost the same conditions as with ROC (which does not mean she's bad !) She is just showing her age.

Hi Patrick,
as an addition to your reference to ROC, which might be considered confusing: The "Perla" of course sailed for My Travel Sun Cruises as the "Seawing", not for ROC, even though ROC was involved through some kind of charter / purchase agreement.

I've got confused between PERLA and CORAL. I was talking about CORAL...
These new "precious stones-names" doesn't make it easier... Or I am really starting to get old
About PERLA I cannot say too much either. I have been onboard last time in 1998 when she sailed as SEAWING. She was quite ok that time while her sister FLAMENCO seemed to be in a better shape. The interiors looked more fresh than on SEAWING. But also SEAWING was taken over by Louis in a rush which explains that not all was working perfectly at the beginning. But I'm pretty sure that Louis is improoving the ship and product step by step. Also here, do not expect any luxury product or similar.
Sorry for the confusion between PERLA and CORAL...
