Does anybody know how long will the passenger ships to antarctica continue operating???

I open this forum in order to join opinions about the impact produced in each call of each ship that arrive to Antarctica.

Thanks for sharing your comments. Really??? I used to work for the travel agency which is encharged of Cruises Operations of Explorer II (A&K).

I was every morning in each call at Explorer II, a great ship, one of the most luxurious ship to visit Antarctica.

To answer your original question, the season for Antarctica begins in November and ends in Feb. I understand the best probability of great weather is late Dec. and early Jan. There are a number of ships now sailing various itins but most don't allow you to actually step foot on the continent. Some hit the surrounding islands like Elephant Island and Half Moon island. If you want to actually set foot on the continent you'll have to go with Orient on the Marco Polo.
