I just learned that the original Island Princess is now sailing as m/v Discovery for Discovery World Cruises, and from the photos I saw, she looks even better than she did when sailing for Princess. I would love to hear from anyone who has sailed her recently. She was the first ship I sailed, back in 1974, and, well you know what they say about first loves! I would love to sail the ol' girl again, but I would like to know what to expect. Kind regards for any thoughts you might have.

I visited the "Discovery" during her first season in service with her current owners and really liked her back then, even though some signs of the mis-treatment the ship had received from its former South Korean owners were still clearly visible back then. You can find my Photo Review of the ship here.
From what I have heard, lots of money and passion has been invested in the ship since my visit, and a recent review I've read indicates that this is a great product.
HELLO RAOUL , IM GLAD SHES IN GOOD HANDS AS WELL, I HEARD ON ONE WEB SITE THAT THE PACIFIC PRINCESS WAS JUST SOLD FROM PULLMANTUR TO AN UNKNOWN SUBJECT, I HOPE THAT ISNT THE GRAVEYARD AT ALANG? HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING? MIGHT BE NICE IF THE OWNERS OF MV DISCOVERY BOUGHT THIS SHIP AS WELL....ANY THOUGHTS??THANKS GREGG
it was originally expected that the "Pacific" wasn't intended to be part of the Pullmantur takeover by Royal Caribbean Cruises. However, the ship is currently scheduled to sail in the Western Mediterranean for Pullmantur next year.
