Hello All!!! I just want to know if anybody here has ever taken a disney cruise and if so how was it??? I dont have kids but i was thinking of taking this cruise.

I don't have children and I've been on Disney three times. I love it. It's a total different experience from the other cruise lines. They don't have a casino for one thing. The dining experience is unique. They have three different dining rooms and you rotate each night to a different dining room. Your wait staff rotates with you.

The production shows are fabulous, they are geared toward Disney themes and movies. They have a regular movie theatre onboard and show current Disney movies.

I have never found all the children onboard to be a problem. Disney does such a great job keeping them occupied. There are plenty of adult activities. Adults have their own pool and children aren't allowed in the lounges after a certain time at night.

Disney's private island Castaway Cay is great. There is a private beach for the adults there too.

Another advantage is the ship docks there instead of tendering.

We had to tender last Sunday at Great Stirrup Cay. NCL needs to work on their tendering.

Thanks everybody for all the helpful information, I'm really considering this cruise one day, but one thing for sure they are definatley higher in price than any other cruise, but hey its disney

We are a couple (40yrs old) without children. We cruised with Disney last December. We had a good time, but probably will not cruise with them again. I agree with all of the positives that were mentioned. Their shows were awesome. We liked Palo's. We also liked the adults area, but we felt the cruise lacked something and we had a hard time putting our finger on it. The rotational dining was good, but not great. We feel like the spa areas on RCL's ships are far better. In fact...some of the treatment rooms on the Wonder are directly under the sports deck and you could hear folks playing basketball.

We get a kick out of some the standard cruise things like the belly flop contest etc and our cruise on the Wonder had none of that.

Disney really caters to the family which is great, but we walked off the ship feeling like we needed to hurry and book another cruise to fill that empty feeling. DCL's current ships are a bit smaller (less that 80,000 tons) and we sort of felt the size even though I really can't explain what that means.

For the price...we will now look for other cruises other than Disney.

The Disney ship's are actually 83,000. This is a very popular size. Not to big, but not too large. The Disney ships came out in 1998 and 1999. With the mega ships being built now days well over 100,000 and soon to be over 200,000; then the 83,000 may seem small. I don't think that should affect how smooth the ride though. I just sailed on the NCL Sky at 77,104 and it was as smooth as glass.

Disney isn't for everybody though. They are a different experience. It's great there are so many cruise lines to choose from.

I stand corrected. You are right. I had the number 79,000 in my head for some reason. We liked the Radiance and it is not a mega ship, but it just seemed to have better use of the space to us than the Wonder. I agree that Disney is not for everyone. We just felt something was missing from our cruise with DCL.
