we are booked on the Genoa/Ft Lauderdale via caribbean xmas/new year cruise this year and my husband would like a suite - How lucky am I!! However they are all at the front of the ship top deck, and I get sea-sick so normally go mid-ships. The usual balcony cabins are miniscule so we have a bit of a situation here....... Can anybody help - has anybody done the transatlantic in a suite?
further to my earlier message - forget to mention that the reason for my query is that there are only 28 suites and all are on the top deck - at the very front of the ship.....

the only thing i can say, is that i've experienced the Opera as an extremely smooth moving vessel. But we have never faced rough seas during our cruise.
It is hard to predict weather- and sea- conditions on a transatlantic crossing, so it is a bit of a gamble...at least i can say that i liked the suites (which are more or less "Junior- Suites") especially because of their location on the top deck forward.
If the seas get rough, she offers plenty of comfortable seating midships on lower decks, behind the atrium. But consider, she is by today's standards a relatively small ship for a TA, so there might be a lack of entertainment on those many days at sea.

MSC is a wonderful cruise line. We are booked on the same ship and am really happy to be in the front of the ship. The sailing will not only be smooth, but what a view we will have! Go for it!! If you really do get seasick, get a few patches from your doctor and you will have nothing to worry about
We are also booked on the Opera Dec 16,2006 and have a front cabin but in an Ocean View Room on a lower deck. Should that also be a comfortable location .
