I am sitting in the Ft. Lauderdale Airpoort and thought I would post a quick review of the Lirica. I just got off her on a 10-day Southern Caribbean cruise and wanted to report some of the differences that I noticed since my last cruise on her.
Here are the major differences.
Dining: The ifrst cruise was difficult as the food simply did not appeal to me (and most Americans on board) The food on this cruise waqs OUTSTANDING!!! The entire edining experience was won derful Dinner saw a 6-course dining experience with large portions of excellent food. It qws reminensant of days gone by whena dining on board ships was a lavish affair.
Service: Night and Day. The service a year ago was downright lousy. This cruise, I waqs greeted by white gloved staff with smiling faces that escorted me to my cabin. From that point forward I was dazzled by the differences. While there are still some isolated spots where improvement is needed, overall the level of service on the Lirica is well above acceptable levels and is a dramatic change.
Entertainment: Everyone raved about the entertainment on the Lirica on this cruise. Ten times better than a year ago.
If you are cruising on the Lirica and have read bad reviews, don't be concerned, you will have the time of your life.
I am working on a MEGA review of the experience and should have it publsihed in ten days or so.

Having just arrived home from the Lirica, my feelings echo Tom's entirely. As this was our 29th cruise, we have many fond memories of other cruises, both very good and very bad. But you know what? MSC is working hard to make this the finest cruise for the money. 5 star service for 2 star pricing. I will post a super review in a few days also.
Tom, Just read your newly posted mega-review on the Lirica. Sounds like a wonderful cruise and so glad that Mr. Sasso has apparently been able to turn things around and make this a great product for the money.
You have renewed my interest in sailing on the line again.
Nancy, thanks for the kind words on the review. It really was an amazing experience to see the differences. Compared to the last cruise, it was 180 degrees different.
