looking at a cruise for the first week of march, 2007...have been on carnival, royal carribbean & ncl. never been on costa. would like to know the average age of passengers as we found ncl and holland america to cater to a mostly older (over 65) crowd. as we are late 40's, early 50's, we'd lile to be close. by far, royal carribbean has been the best so far.
If Royal Caribbean has been the best "by far", I would be inclined to stick with them.
I have not been on Costa but judging from some of the reviews it seems to be a rather "different" cruise experience--not better or worse; just different.
Nothing wrong with expanding your cruise horizons, but if you've found something you really like, why not stick with it?
Hopefully somebody else can give you a little more insight into Costa.

We cruised on the Costa Magica for Christmas and had a wonderful time. There were plenty of activities on board, the ports were fun and the ship is beautiful. The crew and staff were great. I posted a review on this board. The age group ranged from tiny babies to 80s. There were plenty of people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, we're in our 50s and had a blast. I still prefer Princess, but would not hesitate to book a Costa cruise again. Best wishes!
Average ages on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Princess depends entirely on the itinerary and time of year. I agree with f-mattox...if it ain't broke, don;t try to fix it!

We sailed on Costa Magica Jan 21 of this year. 80% of the ship was over 65. It was probably the time of year. We had a good time however would probably not book with them again.
Took the January 28th Celebrity Millenium - Eastern Carribean. They started calling it the 'assisted living boat'. Tons of walkers and electric carts....
