3 couples are traveling on the Lirica for the Christmas cruise. I've read several reviews but haven't found anything about buying alcohol on board or ports where it can be purchased and brought on board. We stop in Panama and Colombia, not familiar with those places and ability to alcohol shop. Also, is there a washer and dryers on board for personal laundry. Sounds like my husband won't need his tux? Anyone else on this sailing?
Hi Lynn, so glad I found this site. My family and I are booked on this cruise. I am having difficulty finding detailed information as well. From what I've read about other ships, however, it's kind of a gamble about bringing alcohol on board. All have said if you're going to do it, bring it in your carry-on and wrapped in bubble paper. If they do confiscate it, I believe they hold it until you disembark. I've also read there is no public laundry; you have to pay a premium fee for laundry service.
I would like to know about the shore excursions. MSC's web site has no listing.
As for the formal nights, I have read that for men, a dark suit and tie is acceptable. Definitely no jeans and no shorts anywhere on the ship after 6:00 p.m.

Thanks for the reply. I've just returned from Hawaii, glad to be home. Our party is 6 people, two over 50 couples, and my daughter and son in law with a 1 yr. old baby. We are Lynn and Darrel Richardson. You can communicate with me directly at lynnr@gnt.net If you think we would be compatible, would love to hear from you, but will understand if our group is too complicated for lots of fun. Hi, there is a group of us also going on the cruise, i have read many mixed reviews on this line, some love it, some hate it some said it was ok, some said food terrible some said food ok some said food excellent lol i guess to each his own you have to decide for yourself and your tastes its my husband an I an our 3 children, an my in-laws the parents and sister and the other sister and her husband and son, i have been trying to find out more info on the children's program, i have read on longer itineraries the kids program can be limited but being its christmas time i would think there may be more kids onboard so i am just curious but i guess we won't know anything till onboard, but regardless i am sure it will be a lot of fun, were looking forward to it, this will be our longest cruise we have been on 2 other 7days and they were quite lovely w/excellent kids programs! well maybe we'll see you on board
