Hi!

We're making a TV series for British TV about easyCruise, a new back to basics cruiseline set to sail the Med this summer.

The aim of this cruiseline is to unbundle the package and sell cabin only holidays dirt cheap - see their website at www.easyCruise.com. European readers will know easyJet, the low cost airline, that is the sister company to easyCruise.

We're interested in hearing your views on this idea and particularly interested to hear from you if you've been on other cruises and are trying out easyCruise this summer.

Please email me at skycruise@twofour.co.uk or jonneysteven@twofour.co.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Regards,
Jonney

I think there will be a market for it. Their itinerary is interesting, but leaves me wondering why someone would decide to take the cruise in the first place. Monaco, Nice, Cannes and St. Tropez are so well served by the French rail system; I don't understand the draw of the cruise. What will the meals cost on the ship?

If the idea is to offer a traveling youth hostile, then it makes some sense. It will be interesting to follow its success. As for me personally, I am too old for it so will have to let others experience and report on it.

Tom,

I loved your typo!!!

We've all heard about angry young men but sending them on a cruise to make them Hostile is really original.

Forgive me for hoping it doesn't catch on...

Hi Dave,

this is almost as good as a typo I made some years ago, claiming that the specialty reataurant onboard a certain ship would feature "vintage whines". Somebody replied that there would be plenty of "vintage whines" on Holland America. Lol

Thanks for your comments Tom. You will be able to follow the launch on Sky One in the UK, with the first episode towards the end of April, latest working title, "Cruise With Stelios".

If anyone else has any comments I'd be interested to here from them and we're still looking for experienced cruisers who may be thinking about trying out easyCruise. With prices from £15pppn, why not give it a go?!

Jonney,

I think one thread on this is enough. I have deleted the two other ones you created this morning.

Jonney,

it is as simple as I said above: If you would like to discuss a certain topic, please do so in one thread. Cross-postings as well as repetitive postings or threads will be deleted.

You also posted your original thread (this one) twice and I deleted one copy back then.

Please accept these simple rules. We will not discuss them.

Best regards,

Raoul Fiebig

Opps, looks like I have offended Raoul! Sorry, I'll keep my messages here.

NEPTUNE 2/RENAISSANCE 2

easyCruiseOne is a refitted floating Casino built in 1990. It was also known as the Neptune 2 and the Renaissance 2. Did you ever travel on it in it's past life? What was it like? Do you think it'll make a good budget cruise ship now?

MORE ABOUT EASYCRUISE

For those interested:

www.easyCruise.com is taking bookings now for Spring and Summer cruises in the South of France and the Italian Riviera. easyCruise is designed to appeal to independently-minded people in their 20's, 30's and 40's.

easyCruiseOne sails for a few hours each night, arriving in a new and exciting port every day by lunchtime. The ship stays in port until the early hours of the next morning before repeating the same cycle. Passengers join and leave the cruise where and when they want, provided they stay on board for at least two nights.

ANY THOUGHTS OR COMMENTS? WILL IT WORK? WILL YOU GO?

Jonney,

you did not offend me. It's just that we have to enforce some (read: very few) rules in order to keep these boards fun. Wink
