So, what does registering with the OPC get you? I did it last year before our cruise, and I have done it again before the one I'm going on this weekend, but I don't know what, if anything it does for me.

In the past it has allowed members to roll over points from previous cruises. They don't do that any longer to my knowledge. It is easier to re-sign up online than doing it on the cruise. I honestly don't know the exact details of the current program, as they keep changing them. Here is a link to the benefits.

I have been a continuous member since the program's inception. All I know is, I send them my next cruise info. and they treat me well. With the exception of the slacker on the Legend last year.

I don't think the program really has much meaning unless you fall into the real "high roller" class. On previous cruises, if they knew you were coming, you'd get a special invitation to visit the casino host(ess) for a free drink, anywhere between 5-100 in complimentary chips, and a hat or something. Then they would usually send either a bottle of wine to your dinner table or a fruit plate to the cabin. On the past trip, I got the invitation for the free drink and 500 "points" on my card, the eviuvalent of $5 if you reach 1000 points during the cruise. Now I have a question...what does Harrah's casino have to do with the casino on Carnival Fantasy? There was Harrahs material and signs everywhere. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with being able to open the casino on the Mississippi River immediately after sailing?

10-08 Carnival Fantasy
03-08 Carnival Fantasy
10-07 Carnival Holiday
03-07 Carnival Holiday
11-06 Carnival Triumph
03-06 CaribbeanPrincess
01-04 Carnival Victory
09-03 Carnival Destiny
05-03 Carnival Imagination
11-02 Carnival Imagination
01-02 RCCL Rhapsody of Seas
02-01 RCCL Sovereign of Seas
02-00 RCCL Empress of Seas
01-99 RCCL Sovereign of Seas
01-98 RCCL Majesty of Seas

That is odd about the Harrah's material. I would have preferred the bottle of wine I used to get in the cabin than the drink and 500 points. But with all the additional drinks I received, I'm not going to complain. Smile

I did email the host this year as I know you do tn. They didn't reply, but when I mentioned it they knew the email addy. I used my business email account this time, maybe it helped.

They had the slot tournament on the 5 cent video slots this time. That was different, and they let you qualify individually instead of as a group competition.
