If the ship is docked in Nassau all night and it is "formal night" will they open at some point? I know everything is usually not open when docked in port, but it will be boring that night on the ship if nothing opens up. Or is it just "shut down" during the day?????
Thanks!!!!!!

The casinos cannot open while in port. There is a casino in Nassau on the island. So you can still enjoy hitting the casino if you'd like, just not on the ship.

Cheers, Neil

I hate to disagree with Neil, but while it is usually the case that the casino is closed I *think* ships overnighting at Nassau have an exemption and are allowed to open the casino at night. Perhaps someone else can verify this.

Every time I have been in Nassau overnight the casino has been open.

Thank you all for responding! I really hate to only do a 3-day cruise but I think it's going to be my only option. But I would have been very disappointed if the casino was not open at night while in Nassau since we are on the ship after dinner.

I stand corrected. Sorry about that, shows you can't always go by the info in your system. There are exceptions to every rule apparently. Thanks for posting the right information.

Yes, I can also verify the casino is open on overnight stays in Nassau. It does have special hours though.

Neil, No worries. It's just not your system. You can call CCL, and they will give no as an answer too. At least they have in the past. Smile

Depending on who you talk to at Carnival you can get very different answers to the same question. Smile

That is very true! I have called with the same question, called back to verify and got another person with a different answer. Wait, it get's better, called again to try to get a consensus about the answers, and another different answer.

It is probably like that with alot of large corporations. Unless it is a pressing matter, I only call one certain person now who has been with the company for a long time. Smile

Getting back to the casino question. Does anyone recall when they opened the slots? I think it was either 5pm or 7pm the last time I was there.

Don't know on the slots question, never play 'em. But you're right on the different answer thing. Not just with CCL. They all have such high turnover in those positions that get phone duty that with any line it's a crap shoot what or who you'll get. Also, even with rate quotes if they tell you wrong their policy is that until it's in writing they are not responsible! Happens all the time and you call back and they say "tough bananas buddy" the right rate is "$___.__ and that's what your clients will have to pay. I like the online booking engine agents use better for a reason!

Yup, not just CCL. It's like that most everywhere. At least CCL has not moved their phone banks out of the US. I recently had a problem with Spirit Air (never fly them again) and I could not get anyone other than someone in the Philippines that did not care about my problem one bit.

Three days in Grand Cayman with no luggage. Frown

Just chuckled to myself as I thought about the irony of my criticizing the cruiseline for wrong information on the same post I gave wrong info on myself. I better not buy a glass house until i learn not to throw those stones.
