Both are nice ships, but both will be a different experience. No reason you couldn't enjoy either cruise. The Holiday is much older and smaller. The Fascination came out in 1994 and was just recently refurbished, and is larger than the Holiday. The Fascination would offer more choices.
If you haven't been on either, you would enjoy the Fascination more. The Holiday experience is more appreciated after you see how the bigger ships are and you are able to overlook some of the shortcomings of a smaller ship.

I enjoyed cruising on both ships. As has been said, the Holiday is a smaller and older ship. It doesn't have an atrium lobby, or some of the features of the Fascination. It is a charming ship though.

Depends on WHEN you are considering the Fascination.
If it is after the Evolutions of Fun drydock..then the Fascination would definately get my vote.
We have sailed the Holiday many times (the last time about a year ago) and if you book her, just realize that she is getting ready to be retired.
And being a smaller ship...there is no atrium. Not that this will effect your cruise...but when folks see these atriums in the ads and then book the Holiday...I just like to remind them that she is the only Carnival ship left without the Atrium.
