Can anyone tell me a good time to arrive at the dock on my departure date? I recently received my information and is says 1:30-3:00pm, but I've read that you may be able to board earlier. We will be leaving out of the Galveston port on the Conquuest Smile Just curious if anyone has had an experience with the Galveston port? Thanks!!!

I have never sailed out of Galveston, but I have to believe it's like any other that Carnival sails from. You MUST look upon boarding day as the first day of your cruise...becasuse on the last day, you're going to eat breakfast and leave! So my advice is to get there early and board early. They usually will let you board around noon because they DO have lunch available. Get on and start enjoying your vacation! Just my humble opinion. Have a great trip!

That's a great point, PA Steve; why do they always tell us not to arrive early--"for a faster embarkation, arrive after 2:00"--when they have this fabulous lunch waiting!

Rick,

Exactly! The embarkation day cruise news letter will invariably list the lunch buffet as being from noon to whatever, yet the docs and even signs on the pier say embarkation commences at 1 or 2pm.

From my experience, get there at 11AM. They will most likely start boarding by 12. Maybe earlier. But if you wait, you will most definelty be waiting in a long line.

If you get there early, you will most like be standing in a line too, but you will be inside, and most like be on the ship by 12 or 12:30.

What about a cruise that departs at 8:30pm from San Juan? It's also a RC cruise.

Thanks for the info! I just didn't want to arrive down there @ 11 and be told that we can't enter till 1:30. So hopefully we can get on-board or atleast start the process early. Again, thanks for all the help Smile

Ok
I know is the Adventure of the Seas
During 2006 I cruise with RCCL in the AOS
I arrived around 11:30 am to their embarking port and was on the ship by 12:00 to 12:30 pm.
But Remember you can't enter your cabin until 2:00 pm so after you enter ship is directly to the buffet...

As PA steve post I consider important to board early since the last day of the cruise you just eat your breaksfast and out of the ship,
the first day after boarding is for me the first day of my cruise...
