I am booked on the Sensation, in Cabin V-38. It's a cabin with an obstructed view. (It has a lifeboat in front of the balcony).. Has anyone ever stayed in one of these cabins? It was a free upgrade from a cabin on Empress...

I have stayed in an obstructed view balcony cabin, not that particular one. It's not bad at all. You can still see, it's just that you have to look over or around the lifeboat. Couldn't beat the price! I was still able to enjoy being able to sit on the balcony and watch the sunrise/sunsets, smell the fresh air, and hang out the snorkeling gear.

I figure this cabin (offered as a free upgrade) is much better than a cabin on Empress with NO VIEW.. Plus, like you said, fresh air and being able to sit outside. Not to mention a bigger cabin. Another concern I have are the workers deciding to work on the boat, outside my cabin, with no warning. I guess we'll just have to keep an eye open for them. Regardless, NOTHING will ruin my cruise.. Obstructed view or not!! I'm ready for a Pina Colada... Thanks for the info!!

Anytime you get an upgrade from Empress to a Balcony Suite is a great thing! Congrats! Big Grin

The crew will be working, but normally not unless you're in port. Then they will usually start around 8 am. I'm sure they've had many sights to behold Wink Here's wishing for great weather and a wonderful cruise!

Penny, that is so funny! Big Grin

Don't you love it when you leave the curtains open while cruising at night, then wake up to find you are docked beside another ship? <LOL> !
