An 83 year old Grandmother from New York City recently celebrated her 100th Carnival cruise on the Fascination. In addition to being provided an owner's suite, the ship held several festivities to mark the occasion. She was also a guest of honor at the Captain's table where he presented her with an engraved ship's bell. She is only the second person to have sailed 100 Carnival cruises.

i am going to tell my family that it might be cheaper to just send me on cruises week after week than to send me to a retirement home! so maybe i too will someday have 100 cruises. i can only hope to still be able to be out there cruising the seas at age 83! GOD BLESS HER!!!!

I thought that was sooo cool when I read that.

My youngest son is 15 and just finished his 15th cruise on Carnival since 1998.... perhaps there is a "bell" in his future!!!

I think they should invent a retirement home on a cruise ship,I am willing to sign up right now. What a way to spend your retirement.

Actually a cruise ship is cheaper than a retirement home, I sing at Nursing Homes and assisted living homes and these people are spending way more than $100.00 a day to live there.. I'd rather be cruiseing when I get that old it's alot cheaper and the sights are much better. there is a friend of mine that knows an old lady that cruises 10 months straight out of the year just to save money.

think about it ...if you dont drink or purchase anything that would go on your sai N Sign card it would end up just costing you the cost of the cruise itself which can be under $100.00 a day. the cabin mate can be a family member or a nurse to care for you and to keep the cost down ,(instead of getting the single cruiser rate)

What a way to go.

I remember seeing something on tv a few years back about a woman that did the same thing. It looked pretty neat. All the staff looking after her as they would family. Hopefully they exempted her from the ritual muster drill!

Mr. O. its great that you sing for those in nursing homes. Its gotta be wonderful to be able to bring some light into their otherwise bleak days.

actually I love it and they love me. It's just sad when you see that one or two are missing the next time I go in. My Biggest fan Annie Died a week after I sang for her last year I went back the next month and asked where she was and when they told me I was devistated she was a doll I just happend to Tape the last time I sang for her Song for Annie Video
