They didn't on the past few cruises I was on, and I think 911 had alot to do with it. I don't think they want to take a chance that anything could happen to the food.

Steve, Thanks for that info. I knew they did not do the Bridge Tour any longer. The Galley tour was pretty awesome as well. I thought they still did it on some port days.

No galley or bridge tours on the Valor last week...however, if you purchase the 'voyage video' for $29.95 they'll through in a video tour of these spaces.

Shameless... Big Grin

I remember a few years back we did a galley tour. We got to do a bridge tour on RCI's Splendour of the Seas last year & that was cool.

Just got off the Miracle on the 11th. They did a galley tour. Same day as the Midnight Gala Buffet. (I think it was the 6th day on an 8 day cruise)

I did the galley tour on the Fascination back in 2004. It was very interesting. It was also the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen in my life.

Spotless!!!! Chrome, steel, tile, grout, glass -- everything was spotless.

I think it will vary from ship to ship and depending on the length of the cruise. In February on the Fantasy 4nt, they didn't have an open galley tour for all passengers. But they did have a special one for Platinum members.

Just got back from 7 days on the Victory and we went on the galley tour. It wasn't much of a tour, really. They gave us an information sheet with a map of the galley area and then everyone filed through the galley. You were basically on your own. It was interesting, but not what I'd call a true 'tour.' Smile

At the end of the galley tour, they had a table set up where you could buy one of three cookbooks (one was for drinks) and/or some special wine. I looked in the cookbooks to see if the warm chocolate cake recipe was in there. Sadly, it wasn't.

During the tour, we passed by a cabinet that had entire TRAYS full of warm chocolate cake waiting to be reheated for serving. My friend joked that I would smuggle one of those trays out of there if I could. She was right! Smile

We've been on a few galley tours on different ships. What amazed me was they weren't as big as I thought they would be. For all those meals, all the people they have to serve, I really expected it to be about twice as large. On some of the ships, they have different levels with galleys on them, but still it didn't seem like enough room to me. I would love a kitchen like that, though.

Have only been on a couple of Fantasy Class tours. I hope they don't stop the tours as I would like to see the Biggger ships galleys sometime. Just with someone with a restaurant background it is interesting to see the equipment they use.
