No, the price is the same whether you book them onboard or ahead of time.

They might sell out though before you get onboard. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Good advice from joergr. I always want my cruises to be as stress free as possible, and so to avoid the disappointment of missing a tour that I want, I always book them as soon as I can.

The prices are the same as f-mattox noted. As most may know, but just in case anyone does not. If you click the shore excursions on the main page at Carnival.com it will not show the prices. You have to click "my reservation" and then add shore excursions. It will not add them at that point, but it will show the prices.

Does anyone have recommendations for shore excursions for Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. We were thinking about the submarine in Grand Cayman and Horse back riding in Ocho Rios. Is there anyway to get the times for the excursions, so we might consider more then 1? Any help would be appreciated. Roll Eyes

I just returned from the Christmas cruise on board Freedom.

I took an independent shore excursion in Grannd Cayman to Sting ray City and loved it. We had 2 stops for snorkelling and one stop for the sting rays. It was great and was cheaper than the cruise line excursion by $10 per head I think. These guys are called as Captain MArvins.. apparently they have been in business for over 25 years. Prompt and courteous service, including reply to your emails. As I was chenking in with them I heard a buy say.. you took care of my family 10 years ago.. so we are coming back to you on their reommendations... they lived up to it.

Ocho Rios: We did the Dunn river and Dolphin combo... I know lot of people including my family members liked it.. I was not thrilled with it.. but that is my opinion.

In general I liked Grand Caymen better than Ocho Rios...

It was also my first cruise.. and I enjoyed it... Just chill... you will have fun.

well since this topic about excursions

I had problems trying to book mine online and here is the problem:
When I go to carnival I can see all the excursions on the normal layout all islands with booking options but when I try to book them almost all my port of call don't have that option online (only st.Thomas and San Juan had booking options)

Do I have to call carnival to book them??

Can I book them online??

Why they dont appear as an option on the new route?

Hi Cas, What a great itinerary you have! Big Grin

That is odd that the site is doing that. Usually if they are listed they can be booked. It could be just a glitch, it wouldn't be the first one they have had.

At least you have plenty of time. If you call them and ask, please post back about what the deal is. Thanks.

I call carnival, wait for 10 minutes, and they just transfer me to someone and he did not answer after 10 minutes I just hang up
Did anyone know if they change their itinerary on carnival Destiny??
It cannot be posible they were already fill with this kind of time on advance...
Can this be another computer problem??

I know they just completely redesigned their website for booked guests. I noticed it said on mine: Past guest "no" even though i already have 3 cruises, so i called them and the PVP said that they are still working on uploading all their data to the new site. Maybe that's the problem.

I am not booked right now, so I can't look yet. It is true as joergr said they are doing updates.

One thing to keep in mind is that the vast majority of Shore Excursions do not even sell out on the ship. It is only the specialty ones with limited space that do.

Hopefully, they will have this updated and functional by today.

Mine is displayed properly now as well. Another major change i noticed is that you can already set up your sail and sign account online as part of your funpass.

I have the same problem when looking at our upcoming cruise. We booked excursion a few months back but might add one more. Sometimes when I go to the site it will let me book, other times it will not. When I call Carnival before Christmas I too was told they were have trouble updating their site. Was advised to keep checking back.
