Is it really required to wear toxido on the captain gala night. Does everybody wear this.

Welcome to cruise-chat kitirina!! No you are not required to wear a Tuxedo to the Captians Gala. It is a formal night, but you will find everyone's idea of formal is varied widely. Formal dress would be dressing like you were going to a nice wedding, maybe a prom or you will see some people dressed like they do when they go to church on Sunday. You will see some dressed in tuxedos but it is not a requirement.

we did the tuxedo thing on the last cruise and my family wants the next one to be casual. I was thinking docker type pants and hawaiin type shirt. Can we still go into the dining room and captains gala that way? I want to do the captains gala and stuff but I still want to spend the time with my family and not force them to do tuxes if they don't want to
