Caz,

For sure, when I am on vacation the last thing I want is to have my account suspended because it ran out of funding. When I want a drink, or another t-shirt from the gift shop, I don't want to think about if I have enough money on deposit with the cruise line to cover it.

I have actually had that happen and was on the Holiday! A credit card screw up for sure! When CCL first came out with the points cards, the one before the current useless Seamiles card. They had 2 different credit limits on it, one amount for Carnival and only $500 for other purchases. They entered it wrong when they set up our folios and placed the hold amounts. I was just using my S&S for everything so it hit the hold limit after paying for excursions. And they had placed another hold for the Wife's folio.

Thank God the bartender told me, instead of being called down over the PA! Come to find out the bartender had been serving me for 2 days with my account being that way.

We got it straightened out, but was embarrassing. I now just use my Seamiles card for Carnival to keep it seperate, but again the points are pretty useless until you get way up there.

Another thing is that some folks don't have the ability to have a credit card through life's circumstances. They place the holds on Debit cards as well, so some prefer to just pay the cash. Sorry for the long story.

This was my concern IslandCruz, while on vacation I will be using my debit card for more than just the cruise and I do not need a hold placed on my card by the cruise line enabling me to use it for my other purchases. That would be an embarrassment trying to rent a car to come back home but can't because of a 48 hour(or however long) hold placed on my card.

Well if you want to pay in cash is your choice,
In my case I believe a credit card is more appropriated but at the end is a personal choice, anyway I believe you should have at least one extra credit card just in case you never know what can happen; money can get short some time
Especially when you are enjoying a great vacation and want to bring a few souvenirs,
Always enjoy your cruise without money troubles in your mind…

Ahhh almost forgot,

I received my carnival travel documents by USA mail today,
CARNIVAL IS GOING LOCO!!!!
Now I have them as eDocs and by mail Crazy world ahn???

ThumbUp

Thanks for the advice. Trying to take care of the extra credit card situation so I won't have to worry.

Congratulations on getting your paper docs. Did you by chance book with TA,PVP, or carnival direct. I elected for e-docs and my TA says no-way for paper docs.
