We ar booking the Valor for May 16 and decidiing between the Riviera and Main deck. We want middle or rear of ship. I read somewhere that the low decks can hear engine noise and anchors. I would like imput from anyone who has cruised on the valor riviera and main decks for your opinions. What floor would you reccommend and why. All pros and cons appeciated.

Don't worry about things like this. They are not factors.

If you have a cabin all the way forward near the bow you "might" hear some anchor noise for a minute, and then only at ports where the ship has to tender guests ashore because there is no dock. Similarly, if you have a cabin all the way aft you "might" sense an occasional rumble. This is less so on newer ships such as the Valor which have better sound proofing.

Go for the best price, which most likely is the Riviera deck.

Also if you are aft on Riviera deck you will hear the thrusters when going in or out of port. They can be very loud. I would take mid ship if I were to go with the riviera deck.
