I am traveling with 3 friends on Grand Princess leaving May 18. I seem to be the only one who has "formal" wear. ( we are broke students Smile The two girls that are going with have pantsuits, but no evening gowns. Princess' website says that pantsuits are acceptable on the "smart casual" evenings, but it suggests evening gowns on formal nights for ladies. I traveled on Carnival Destiny back in Dec. 99, but can't recall how people dressed on those formal evenings.. Anyone have any ideas??

Cocktail dresses or dressy pant suits would be fine, something that you would wear to a friend's late afternoon or early evening wedding. How about a bridesmaid's dress that you thought you might never have any use for? It depends also on where the cruise is going. I haven't checked Princess site yet, but you put this on Carnival. Might get other ideas from Princess people. We love Princess, and sure you will to. Europe is the most formal, Alaska, the least formal. Have fun! Wink
