Our favorite places were Dominica & St Kitts. We went to the falls & did a island tour in Dominica, St Kitts we also did the island tour and went to the fort , Brimsone Hill . We arrived in San Juan 2 days prior to the cruise and did the rainforest hike and just enjoyed the city .we certainly would go back to San Juan.everyone was very friendly and pleasent !

We too just returned last week from the Destiny. I gave back to the forum by writing a review in here and posted it, but it didn't get posted. Dave said for me to send it to him, and he would see it got on, but it took me an hour to write the first one and I think when we hit send that is it and it has to be written all over again Frown We did have a wonderful time on the cruise and on Dominica went on the Ariel Tram that was very informative of the rainforest, but our favorite was Barbados as we love the warm caribbean waters and on Malibu beach played ALL day in it. Kitts was the most surprizing of what a clean little port it was. I had been reading how poor and dirty Kitts was and that is the fartest from the truth. There we got a taxi that took us completely around the island stopping at all he historical places. The people were so friendly and lots and lots of monkeys.

Thanks for the feedback, Linda and babydoll. (And, welcome home, babydoll!) I have not been to either Dominica or St. Kitts yet, so will keep your tips in mind should a future cruise take us there. Barbados -- now that's a favorite. By far, the people we met were the nicest of any port, and this is one place I would consider returning to for a land trip.

Baby doll, sorry to hear of your review. I usually type mine in Word or another word processing program so that I have a back-up copy. I'm not exactly one to talk, as I've yet to write a review of my last cruise, which was in July 2007!

Thanks for the welcome home. How do you type it in word and then post it to the review sight? I think most of the people who said Kitts wasn't worth it must have went on that train ride that didn't see anything but back yards of the poor. By a taxi he went everywhere and being local told you everything. Not all taxi drivers are licensed, even though they have a picture on their card. I used JR taxi service...$20.00 pp He drove the whole circle of the island. Gas there is $5.00. YIKES! All people on every island were just wonderful...all but St Maarten and I found person after person very rude and acting like they didn't even like us rich (to them) ship people there. Free beach in front of the shopping area was nice though.

Depends I guess what you are looking for to buy. I was amazed to get real stone necklaces the ladies were making on sight for $15.00. I got an Amber one that had a lot of stones on it. If you have ever been to San Deigo and seen their boardwalk it reminds me of that or Carmel. Very clean. Also the taxi drivers are made to stand behind barriers so as not to bother you when you walk in...now THAT is a change. The police were polished and shined in their uniforms. Very impressed with the little island. Got word that the train has stock ownership with some of the politatians and they really push it. Usually you can get tickets off an exhursion cheaper, but not there. To keep the prices at $100.00 pp they keep the same off ship. I think I found one for $90.00 pp. The taxi is a much better deal all around.

Welcome back baby doll! Big Grin

Sorry about the review. That has happened to me before as well with posting replies. I will give Lisa a PM to make sure she sees your question about using word.

I have to agree from my experience that people are very friendly in Puerto Rico. In Old San Juan the cars even stop to let you cross the street. You can take the public bus system over to Condado (it use to be 50 cents). Haven't been to St. Maarten in a long while.

It took me until the end of the PR stay to figure out because they salsa party all night that no one is up in the morning so I didn't have much luck with the bus system cause were early risers. I did manage to get on the trolly that went from fort to fort though. We just walked one end of Old San Juan to the other. I found it most enjoyable and would highly recommend anyone taking this cruise out of PR to come in a few days early and enoy what old San Juan has to offer. Yes for sure on the traffic letting you cross. In Mexico if you tried that you would be instand road kill. Question? In here before wasn't if something was posted that you were following you were notified? I only answer cause I happen to come in and check.

Well here is the story:

As you know Puerto Rico is one of the ends of the bermuda triangule, actually it ends on Ramey base on Aguadilla part of the west part of the island. Puerto Rico is the island with more OVNIS experiences per habitant on the caribbean.
We even have an "airport for OVNIS" on Cayey, is more like a museum for tourist about experience of people on the island, videos, "el chupacabras"
Most people don't know that the name "chupacabras" was invented here on the island of PR(cayey)and no in mexico like most people think.
We also have a pyramid on MOCA that is releated to the OVNI phenomenom but is not open for tourist at the moment.

"El Yunke" is our national rain forest but also have a lot of OVNI releated "legends" and for all I know there are few good ones, next time you visit "El Yunke" rains forest ask about them just for fun...

Welcome home BabyDoll and Linda007. Glad to hear the cruise was a success. I love Dominica and if you go again, I highly recommend the Champagne Reef snorkel. It is awesome! I hope you bought some Batik in St. Kitts, that was one tour I thoroughly enjoyed. Can't wait to see what y'all select for your next cruise!

This is all very interesting. I also posted a review of the Destiny at Cruise-Reviews that didn't get posted. I just assumed I didn't do a good enough review. I am more interested in the ship and the ship's entertainment than the ports and had little to say about them. However, maybe it wasn't my review but some poldergiest that spirits reviews of the Destiny away to unknown virtual posting. Roll Eyes
I did paste it here and it was shown here at Cruise-Chat. A "Well done" goes to the Admin folks here.

Hey Thanks, I have some photos of the stairways. They are lined with Copper and with copper currently at $3.58 per pound I was very impressed every time I took the stairs. It was staggering to think how much value I was looking at just in walls and ceilings. Wow!!
