Hello, we too are going on the Conquest on 9/24! This is our third cruise out of Galveston in four years. The first cruise we parked at the cruise terminal parking, which will be $70 for this 7 day cruise. There is also EZ Cruise parking, which is just up the street so I understand, and is either $50 or $60 for the stay. If you are driving down the day before and staying at a hotel, check with your hotel about parking there during your cruise. We haven't decided what to do this time.
We are also booked on the Verandah deck with a balcony. This will be our first balcony, so I'm hoping it will be a good choice as well.
There's a lot of good info on here and other cruise review websites, like cruisecritic.com. We have a Roll Call on cruisecritic.com, feel free to stop by and join or just say hi!
We will leave Galvaston on Nov 26th on the Conquest so I will be anxious to hear when you get home. I had questions about the parking also. We will from San Antonio that morning. We are from Nebraska picking up kids in TX. We are on deck 6, balcony rooms at the rear of the ship.
Victory29's comment on asking the Hotel is a good one. I know the Hoiday Inn on Glaveston will allow that and can shuttle you to the terminal. But this close in, they may be full.
EzCruise parking is the way to go. It's $50 for a 7 day cruise which saves you $20 over the terminal parking fee. BOTH are the same in that they shuttle you back and forth, so there really is no difference in the convience. You can look up and reserve a spot for EzCruise on their website.
I would drive up to the terminal, drop your luggage and someone to "stand in line" than go to the parking (whichever you choose) to drop the car off.
And yes, a veranda deck balcony room is a great choice.

Also try the Moody Gardens Hotel. We stay there every year. They have cruise parking and several shuttles that take you back and forth. The wait isn't usually to bad since they have more than one. Go to www.galveston.com for the best rates on hotels for cruise parking.

Hi, Two tips for your conquest cruise besides parking; Read the stuff about the Carnival Cruise Club because they will hit you up about it on the cruise. And take some febreeze or room freshner, it seemed to me that there was a "funny smell" on the ship. Ohters noticed it too and tried to get different cabins with no success. I got used to it by the end of the cruise. I'm not a chronic complainer. Otherwise, I had a great time on the Conquest and I'll go again soon.
