I am taking a cruise on May 18 and have it narrowed down to the Victory and the Grand.. Anyone traveled on both? I've been on the Carnival Destiny in the past and enjoyed it immensly.. So I have been partial to Carnival..But, would like to experience another cruise line to have something to compare.. I was on two other ships before the Destiny, but it was when I was much younger and the ships are no longer afloat. I am 20 yrs old.. traveling with a few other friends.. I hear the Grand Princess appeals to an older crowd.. but now quite sure..

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Jen,
Since you are only 20 and going with friends, you would probably enjoy the Carnival Victory more. There of course is a younger crowd on there. Princess does cater more to an older crown and it is more of a premium cruise line. I guess the answer would be according to what you wanted to do. The cruise for May 18th on the Victory is doing the Eastern Carribean cruise. You definetly want to make a decision soon, as that time of year is usually booked pretty quickly. The Victory holds over 2700 people, so there will be numurous activities going on until the wee hours of the night. Plus during that time of the year there will probably be a large amount of single people on the ship. If I can be of any other assistance do not hesitate to email me at cleopard@msn.com

i have not sailed the princess, but i would have to agree that the Carnival Victory is probably what you are looking for. We just returned from the Victory and it was peak college spring break, i would have to say that probably half of the population was college kids your age. You will definately find something to do onboard the Victory any time of the day or night, my kids that cruised with us were 16 and 19, and they both enjoyed every minute of it. hope this helps!!

I'm 28 and have been on both. We got a super deal on the Grand Princess or else I would have never gone on that line for a few more years anyways. There weren't many people in their 20s onboard though it was December. Had an awesome time though and met a group of young people to hang out with. When I went on the Carnival Victory it was in August and the ship's maiden voyage. There were a lot of young people on board and we had a blast. If I had to choose between the 2 again I would probably do the Victory though if you get a better deal and like the itinerary on Princess seriously give it consideration. Either way, you can't go wrong.
