Got off Splendor 9/11 after a wonderful Baltic Cruise. Baltic ports were outstanding. The Splendor is "Pretty in Pink", The retracting roof over the Lido Deck makes for swimming weather every day. The food service and preparation seemed much enhanced since our last cruise (Liberty 8/06 from Italy). Our balcony room was same as on Liberty but wife says bathroom better. John our cruise director was great as usual. WARNING, our room 6363 was noisy until music in casino stopped, about 12:30AM. The sound carried into our room like we were next to the music rather then a floor away. We slept with earplugs. On our 8 cruises this was a first. We have stayed in this same room before, no problems. Carnival must have known for they made restitution without us asking, we did complain almost every night. I am under the impression that this area of the upper deck suffered noise problems. I would suggest you question Carnival before booking a room in this area. At some point this will have to be corrected but not yet. That was our only complaint about this cruise.

Other than the noise caryross sounds like it was a great cruise!!! I'm booked on carnival splendor on november 21,2008. 8 days in the carribean, tell me was it smooth sailing??

Thanks for the review and head's up about the noise in that cabin. It looks like it is directly above the casino bar. Sounds like you had a wonderful time other than that.

Other then the noise the Splendor is a fine ship. The stabilizers worked so good we didn't need sea legs. On or off ship felt the same. Do not hesitate to book on the Splendor, just stay away from casino area.

Welcome back caryross, glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise! Sorry the music was so loud. That's really wierd, the rooms are usually quite good about keeping out noise. Maybe I don't hear it because my hubby snores so loudly Can't wait to see what you select for your next cruise, it helps ease the debarkation blues.
