Hi,
What's the story regarding hangers in the wardrobes. Is it wise to bring some with you?
Cheers
Peter

There are hangers in the closets already however; if I remember right there is not that many.....it may be a good idea to bring some along, but I don't know if security will hassle you any or not...

We always take extra hangers. This past cruise we took some of those old-fashioned wire hangers (got the idea from someone on this forum). They take up less space in your luggage and then just left them in the cabin when we packed up. Worked great.

I bring most of my things already on hangers so I can take them from the luggage to the closet in one step.

I always take hangers when I go cruising/all inclusive resorts, etc. They never provide enough and I don't like to keep my clothes folded in drawers.

The drycleaning wire hangers are perfect to pack and if you have excess at home, just leave them. We have been retired so long -- I have to take them back and forth since I don't have a supply coming in.

Word of wisdom when packing the hangers. Besure and wrap a sturdy cloth (I use a wash rag) around the end and secure tightly with rubber bands. This will also prevent the ends to damage clothes. I learned this lesson the hardway when I packed the hangers in an outside pocket and the hangers went through the suitcase fabric.

I do the same as Larry said. What I take that needs to hang I have in the garment bag already with a hanger. There is plenty of space and we then hang our jeans and other things on the hangers.

If we are going to wear t-shirts the next day and they have been packed and wrinkled we give them a spray of the wrinkle releaser stuff and hang them in there too.

Kathryn is right about protecting the ends of the wire hangers. We collect the double loop ones that are not sharp and then secure a foam beer Koozie over it Smile

Hi Ptur, It's gramma Bev. Somewhere you mentioned you were having a limo pick you up at the Rome airport (was that pre-cruise Rome?) and again afterward, a limo was taking you to the port. May I ask through whom you arranged that and how much it cost please? Bev

Hi Bev,
I tried to reply to your email but it came back telling me your computer wouldn't accept emails from me. Anyway, to your question. We haven't firmed anything up as yet, we have had replies from two limo companies, both want 75 euros to take us from the airport to the hotel and 150 euros to take us from the hotel to the port. I am waiting to hear from Bobs limos but their prices for next year are not out yet. Another company romaclick.com have a published fare of 48 euros for airport to hotel trip.
We are definately going to book some form of limo just at our age for the peace of mind and less hassles. I prefer someone meeting us at the airport with our name card instead of hunting for a taxi or shuttle and in addition even though it costs a bit more to be taken direct from the hotel to the ship or at least the port will be an advantage. I will let you know when I have more information. If any one has any tips please advise.
Peter
