Hi' We are cruising on the Carnival Ecstacy on 3/26 out of Galveston. My Aunt just told me that Cozumel isn't very nice. Can anyone confirm? She said that she felt very unsafe while she was there. Also, I was upgraded to the Empress level, is this noisy because of the activities going on above? Thanks for any help!
I was not on shore at night, but was in Cozumel during the day and never felt unsafe. I stayed right in the town next to the dock, which is largely shops and a few restaurants and bars. Shopkeepers were a little bit aggressive in trying to entice us into their shops, but not bad.

We went to Passion Island while in Cozumel and it was SO beautiful. We got a tour of the city on the way there and then took a boat out to the island. I was really impressed with our guides and how attentive they were for the 5 hours. There was an all you can eat buffet mexican lunch(for the entire time there) that was WONDERFUL> We had homemade chips, homemade salsa and guacamole, chicken etc. There were unlimited drinks(beer, rum punch, soda and water) They had two pinatas for the kids for mexican candy in them and there were ample chairs for everyone. There was also a place they reserve for newlyweds(did not see it) and lots more. We had enough time to shop at the port when we got back and I thought the shopping was good, although I found some of the same things ALOT cheaper when we got to Progresso the next day. Cozumel does have a pharmacy in the shops where you can buy antibiotics so I stocked up!

My wife and I are going to Cozumel in 2 weeks. I am looking forward to going to Cozumel. Where would you recommend we go to and see? Is there a tour you would recommend? Any advice would be appreciated
Linsk, what is it that you like to do for recreation? Cozumel offers something for everyone. Great shopping, beaches, water activities, ruins....there are a lot of choices.
