Sailed on the Sensation in Jan 2003 and really enjoyed ourselves. We are looking at our second cruise for Jan 2004. We have narrowed it down to a couple. One is the Carnival Glory 7 day out of Port Canaveral. I haven't been able to find any reviews about the Glory. I guess because it's a fairly new ship. Has anyone sailed on the Glory? Also, when should we book for the best deal? Last minute? Three months before? Or now?

thanks

The Glory is so new, she isn't even out yet. She's due to start sailing in July. Given that a brand-new cruise ship sometimes has bugs to work out, and considering that you might not want to book any of the first month's scheduled cruises, just in case there are delays getting a ship ready, being on a brand-new ship can be pretty neat. I sailed on Carnival Triumph during one of the pre-inaugural 2-day cruises and really enjoyed it.

Were booked on the Glory on what was to be its second sailing, July 26th. I have been a little concerned about a new ship being ready on time.

I saw yesterday that Carnival has just added a earlier sailing for the Glory for July 14th. The 19th had been the scheduled first sailing.

I took that as a good sign that the Glory is on time.

We have sailed three new ships immediately after their debut (one an inaugural sailing) and we had a great time each and every cruise. The biggest inconvenience was on one ship where the service was a little lacking. It wasn't that the service was bad, just not quite up to the usual standards.

There have been a few ships that haven't had the best reviews during the first few sailings for different reasons. Mainly just adjusting to the new ship, new crew working together, etc.

A lot of people prefer to be on one of the first sailings of the new ships. It is a plus for being one of the first to see the new decor, stay in the stateroom, etc. I have been working with a group going on Glory on one of its first sailings and may even join them myself! I love sailing new ships.

If you do decide to go on Glory during July, just keep in mind that it is a new ship and there may be a few bugs. And have a wonderful cruise!
