This one is regarding alcohol being brought on board.

They have changed the wording to include the alcohol confiscated during embarkation will be discarded without compensation. They have also limited the wine or champagne that can be brought on board to 750 milliliter per person.

Must be a response to the abuse of the policy by some bringing jumbo bottles and boxes of wine on board is my guess.

Here is the updated policy.

No problem with the policy from my perspective, except it is a little silly to get so tedious with the bottle size.

I just read the new policy, and I dont see a thing wrong with it. Can you imagine going into local club and bring your own alcohol. Its not going to happen.
Also I saw where they band large coolers. who brings large coolers on a cruise. I do take a soft sided cooler to take bottled water with me when we go to the beach at a port. But a large cooler? cant blame them on that one either.

I would say the lawyers added this policy statement to help reduce liability in the event of a mishap caused by someone that brought their own. At least "they told them so."

So just to understand this...You can bring a bottle of wine or champagne on board as long as it is 750 mil or smaller? Other cruise lines will not let you bring anything on board. We will be taking our first Carnival cruise in Oct. so I wanted to be clear on this. Also, my wife loves Diet Pepsi Vanilla and by reading this, she could bring a few cans of it if she wanted?

Not all cruise lines prohibit wine. Princess for one allows it too.

As for soda - sure, your wife can bring along some of her favorites. I'd say a twelve-pack of Pepsi Vanilla wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Yes, as Dave noted bringing non-alcoholic beverages is fine in limited quantities. I take my caffeine-free diet pepsi all the time. Smile

The policy itself is nothing new. It is the language that has changed regarding the limits of the wine, and confiscation etc. They also added the cooler statement.
