Isn't there some link that shows what the ship is going to have on it? I would like to know what kind of pools or water play areas they will have. Surely you would think they can come up with more imagination than just a pool.I am waiting to see about booking the dream instead of the freedom of the seas.
The Dream isn't due out until Fall 2009. I'm sure the cruise line is concentrating on promoting other things happening before the Dream. Such as the brand new Carnival Splendor, and new itineraries. Also, sometimes cruise lines like to keep announcements under wraps about new ammenities on new ships. It makes for better marketing.
"Carnival Dream" is scheduled to enter service September 21st, 2009 in Civitavecchia (Rome) with a series of three Mediterranean cruises, followed by a trans-Atlantic crossing to New York.
Her Caribbean itineraries out of Port Canaveral will include calls to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten (eastern) and Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Freeport (western), respectively.
I was really hoping for different itineraries though. These are the same that the Glory has. Humms, I wonder if they will move the Glory, or change her itineraries?
The link doesn't work yet. It is in place on their site though, ready for the Info. to be added.
If anyone catches the Press Release, please post a link to it.
Many sincere thanks, and best regards,
Dwayne

The link works great now. This is almost too much to digest at once. The two-bathroom staterooms will surely be a hit, along with the spa staterooms and suites!
I have to go back and read some more!

It must be me but can someone explain what a cove balcony is? What is the difference between that and a regular balcony?
It must be a new Carnival term. The way Raoul explained it in this thread, is that they are balconies that are in the "hull" of the ship, rather than located above on the super-structure of the ship.
They must still have some tweaking to do with the page. The page describes the "cove" balconies as being on the Riviera deck. The Deck Plans are not showing any Riviera deck cabins with balconies.

I really look forward to hopefully being able to give her a try in the Mediterranean next year. However, I must say that on the other hand I am disappointed that from her deck plans she's not that different from the current "Conquest"-class ships.
I will be sailing aboard "Carnival Splendor" for a three-night cruise out of Dover in two weeks, by the way.
I see your point about the design being simular to the "Conquest" class ships. At the same time, the new features are exciting to me. I hope they put a good barrier up for those Cantilevered Spas.
Hope you have a great cruise on the Splendor! Isn't it suppose to be the first Carnival ship with the WaterWorks as a new construction?
Best regards,
Dwayne
