Never seen or heard of this. You can pre-buy drink coupons on Carnival's website under gifts that you can purchase. We also do this so we at least have some of our drinks already paid for.

There are no alcohol cards. The post you saw was probably referring to the drink coupons one can buy as gifts.

A friend recently took a cruise on the Fantasy. Before leaving, she said that she had got an alcohol card. She said it cost something like an extra $300.00. I am not sure if that is per person or together. I am also not sure if she purchased it through Carnival or her TA, but I could find out if anyone is interested.
Anyway, I thought yeah right. I figured she would get on the boat, and she would figure out that she got ripped off. When she got back, she said that the card had worked just like a soda card. She said that she ended up saving over $200.00.
I am just passing on information. I have no idea if it is true or not, but I don’t think she has any reason to lie to me.

Perhaps she was with a group? Sometimes groups will purchase open bars for their members for a set fee. It is simply hard to believe that Carnival would start a booze card option for anyone on their cruises and we wouldn't hear about it. It just isn't something that would casually appear in a message thread on this forum. It would be BIG NEWS everywhere on the internet cruise boards. Smile

There is no such thing as an alcohol card available for individual purchase. I have heard of large groups being able to buy in to a program for something like that. I don't know if that is even true for sure though, or the details of it. Smile
