I've not heard of that rule. I always take the pump spray bottle and have never had a problem. I purchased one of the small travel size bottles so that I can take it in my carryon and get through airport security with it. I did this 2 weeks ago with no questions asked.
Not sure where you saw this. Travelgal is correct in that the airlines won't let you carry on anything larger than a 2 once bottle (just buy a travel size one) but if you check you bags, they don't care if its aerosol or not. The ship doesn't care either way.

I have not flown since 2001. I am going to have to read up on this. I have to have my lysol when cruising. We are thinking of flying to Fort Lauderdale next year for the Liberty.

I have "always" (April 2007) carried my aerisol hairspray with me, going in the luggage that goes "underneath" or check in for the plane. They have never taken it out. Getting by with a "small" 2oz size is not for me, and then have to purchase it again. This way, I don't run out.
I found the lysol wipes-- you know, the pop-up type, were ok. Can't spray things, but it is an ok substitute.
